This week, MCA Malawi II is hosting pre-bid site visits for over 40 potential contractors, interested to undertake the exciting road projects on the over 50 km Chileka-Likuni Corridor in Lilongwe and the over 70 km Chamtulo-Mkutumula Corridor in Mangochi and Ntcheu.

The site visits have been organized to ensure that bidders get a first-hand look at the scope of work, road conditions, and any potential challenges to be taken into consideration.

“We want our bidders to fully understand the site conditions. This gives them a clearer picture of the scope, our expectations, and the project in general,” said McDonald Banda, the Project – Transport Project.

Through the site visits, the potential contractors are not only gaining insights on construction needs but are also assessing important factors like environmental impact and community considerations, to be incorporated in their proposals.

The Compact has also organized a Pre-Bid Conference in Lilongwe on 4th October 2024, where potential contractors will have more opportunities for further engagement and clarifications on the scope of the road works.
