MCA Malawi II holds Public Disclosures

MCA Malawi II, in collaboration with consulting firm (AECOM), recently hosted a series of Public Disclosure meetings to share key information on the environmental, social, and resettlement plans for the project. These plans are designed to ensure that the needs of communities and individuals impacted by the project are thoroughly addressed.

The disclosures were held ahead of the final bid submission deadline for the first corridor package on November 20th, after which road construction works are set to begin from mid-2025.

The Public Disclosure meetings were held in Mangochi and Ntcheu district councils, targeting members of the District Executive Committees (DEC) from both districts. During the sessions, MCA Malawi II Chief Operating Officer Samuel Kadangwe emphasized the importance of timely project delivery.

He stated, “The Compact’s timeline is fixed, with no extensions. We are therefore calling on DEC members and all partners to collaborate closely with us to ensure every milestone is achieved, and that we meet our deadlines.”

As the project moves forward, MCA Malawi II remains committed to transparent communication and ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the process.
