“As President of MALGA I am pleased to see this project come to fruition, as it will significantly enhance service delivery in our cities,” said Sagawa.
Dye Mawindo, CEO of MCA Malawi II, emphasized the importance of using the American-funded resources responsibly for the benefit of all Malawians. “We must ensure that the reforms we are implementing are carried out effectively,” Mawindo stated. “Malawi is our only home and we must all unite to ensure that the agreed reforms are successfully executed.”
The Land Project aims to improve land services and increase land-based revenues, driving investment and enhancing essential services across the country. The project is central to ongoing policy and institutional reforms designed to strengthen land governance institutions for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
A key focus of the Compact is the modernization of land-based revenue systems in the cities of Lilongwe, Blantyre, Zomba, and Mzuzu, which will significantly boost resources for critical public services.
